This Privacy Policy describes how Lovestruck, operated by Kunolu Applications Inc., a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1. Information You Provide

a) Account Information:

  • Name (display name you choose)
  • Birthday
  • Email address (from Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email/password sign-up)
  • Password (hashed; for email/password accounts only)
  • Apple ID or Google account identifier (for Apple/Google sign-in)

b) Profile Information:

  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Couple photo (optional)
  • Date preferences (categories you select to personalize date recommendations)

c) User Content:

  • Pings (quick signals sent to your Partner)
  • Daily prompt answers (text and poll responses)
  • Love notes
  • Photos uploaded to the timeline, plus reactions and comments
  • Songs shared via iTunes integration
  • Date ideas you save, plan, or complete
  • Time capsule contents (notes, images, videos)
  • Captions and text you provide

1.2. Information Collected Automatically

a) Device Information:

  • Device type and model
  • Operating system version
  • Unique device identifiers
  • Push notification tokens
  • Advertising identifier (e.g., IDFA on iOS, subject to App Tracking Transparency permission)
  • Crash diagnostics and performance data

b) Usage Information:

  • App feature usage
  • Last active timestamp
  • Streak count (consecutive days of engagement)
  • Couple level and score
  • Timezone offset

c) Location Information:

If you grant permission, we use your approximate location to surface nearby date ideas and venues. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1. To Provide and Maintain the App:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Connect you with your Partner
  • Deliver pings, love notes, and other messages
  • Display daily prompts and store answers
  • Store and deliver time capsules
  • Sync love notes to home screen widgets

2.2. To Send Notifications:

  • Push notifications when your Partner sends a ping
  • Notifications when your Partner answers daily questions
  • Love note delivery notifications
  • Photo shared notifications
  • Photo comment notifications
  • Song shared notifications
  • Date planned notifications
  • Daily prompt reminders (if enabled)
  • Time capsule delivery notifications
  • Retention and engagement reminders, including streak-at-risk, milestone celebrations, level-up, partner-active nudges, weekly recaps, and weekend date suggestions (each individually controllable in Settings)

2.3. To Improve the App:

  • Analyze usage patterns
  • Fix bugs and improve performance
  • Measure the performance of marketing campaigns via attribution partners
  • Develop new features

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1. With Your Partner:

  • Your display name and profile photo
  • Pings you send
  • Daily prompt answers (after both Partners answer)
  • Love notes you send
  • Photos you upload, and reactions/comments
  • Songs you share
  • Date ideas you save, plan, or complete
  • Time capsule contents (upon delivery)
  • Your last active status, streak, level, and couple score

3.2. With Service Providers:

  • Google Cloud: Authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, push notifications, and analytics
  • RevenueCat: Subscription entitlement management
  • Apple and Google: Authentication and payment processing
  • Google Places API: Venue data for date recommendations
  • Ticketmaster API: Event data for date recommendations
  • Google Gemini: AI-generated date idea suggestions
  • Meta (Facebook) App Events: Marketing attribution and analytics
  • TikTok Business SDK: Marketing attribution and analytics

3.3. For Legal Reasons:

  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To protect our rights or property
  • To prevent fraud or abuse
  • In response to lawful requests by authorities

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1. Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Google Cloud, located in the United States.

4.2. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Google Cloud App Check for API protection
  • Secure authentication via Apple and Google
  • Access controls and authentication requirements

4.3. Photos and media are stored in Google Cloud Storage with access restricted to the couple.

4.4. While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

5.1. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services.

5.2. User Content (pings, love notes, photos, prompts, time capsules) is retained until you or your Partner delete it, or until account termination.

5.3. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, dispute resolution).

5.4. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1. Notification Preferences:

You can individually control each notification type in the App's Settings, including:

  • Ping received
  • Partner answered a question
  • Daily prompt reminder
  • Love note
  • Photo shared, photo comments
  • Song shared
  • Date planned
  • Streak at risk, milestone celebration, level-up
  • Partner active nudge, weekly recap, weekend date suggestion

You may also disable all push notifications at the device level through your operating system settings.

6.2. Access and Portability:

You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.

6.3. Correction:

You can update your name and profile information in the App's Settings.

6.4. Deletion:

You may delete your account and associated personal data directly from the App in Settings, or by contacting us. Note that deletion will also affect your Partner's access to shared content.

7. Children's Privacy

7.1. The App is intended only for users 18 years of age or older, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.

7.2. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), or from minors under the age of majority in their jurisdiction.

7.3. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 (or the applicable age of majority), we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@kunolu.com.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

9.1. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

9.2. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email.

9.3. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
